Approachable Online Wine Courses for All!
After taking one of the 10 Second Server online courses, it’ll be easier than ever to taste and describe wine!
Developed by sommelier Paul Martzoukos, the “10 Second Server” is a series of online wine courses based around the theory that you can hold a guest’s attention for about 10 seconds.
The original course was developed to teach those in the serving industry how to feel comfortable presenting, describing and pairing wine for their guests. After seeing the benefits of teaching a wine course “in plain English”, Wine FUNdamentals was created for a wider audience. This course is for everyone, whether you’re in the serving industry or just have an interest in wine.
Wine FUNdamentals: The Approachable Wine Course for Everyone!
This 30-minute online wine course is perfect for someone new to the serving industry or a hobbyist who wants to build their knowledge of wine. Learn how to taste wines, how your palette is built, and how to identify and describe the key characteristics of wine. Dive into a brief history of alcoholic beverages and learn some answers to common questions people have about wine.
10 Second Server: The Original Program for Industry Professionals
The original 10-Second Server course is a 1.5 hour online program that introduces the “TIPS” system and teaches the history of alcohol, how to read a wine label, how to describe and properly taste wine, and the basics of pairing menu items.
At the end of the course, the participant will be able to confidently present and describe wine and will possess basic knowledge of pairing wine with food.
I'm constantly banging my head against the wall over managers cutting labour rather than training the staff how to sell. If restaurants thought about their waiters as sales personnel instead of servers, we'd be far better off.
